Elvelangs, or "along-the-river", is a festival taking place once a year in Oslo. Although exhibitions ranged dramatically in nature and aesthetics, they all had the underlying theme of light. A small team of designers and I created this piece with the idea that something which is quite simple can have a very large impact. Due to there being thousands of guests within the six hours of the festival, we also wanted to make the exhibit quite large literally.    The simplicity of materials and utilization of the natural space available made this piece a success in many ways. There was a camera mounted to a tree inside the structure pointed down which was effectively transforming the interior of the structure into a photo booth. The photos were published on a public Flickr photo album for guests to download.
The glow around the tree was an added bonus that we did not originally plan on.
Visitors loved how the semi-transparent film played with both their own reflections as well as the image of those standing on the other side.
Dancing was by far the most popular response, which was fascinating considering all we provided was a light source and a wall.
The reflections of the colors were quite beautiful in the adjacent river.
The photo booth inside was ver popular.  By the next day, we had nearly 100 downloads from the public Flickr album, of the 56 photos taken.
